I have had this kettle for about 9 month now and I am very satisfied with my purchase. A few reviews were not as great and I was very hesitant to order. It seemed that some people had rust problems after a few month. I leave the lid open to ensure that the moisture can escape after boiling water and I never leave any water in it. The hot kettle dries that way pretty quick and it prevents the rust.
It is a smaller kettle and I would say it works perfect for 1-2 people servings. The size is definitely to small for a whole family of tea drinkers 🙂
Update: I am still satisfied with my purchase. The kettle still works and looks like on day one after three years of use. The second picture of the inside is the most recent picture taken. I use it at least once a day.

I boil water about 2 times a week for tea. We got this kettle, and dry it out the best we can after every use. It traps a little bit of water in it that is hard to get out. After a while the cracks in the bottom started to rust. 1 year and a few weeks after buying the kettle I called KitchenAid to see what to do because I was worried about drinking water out of a rusty kettle. All they told me is to throw it away and then they tried to sell me a new one. If you buy a kettle from KitchenAid you will be having to buy a new one every year. Then when I said I didn’t want to buy a new one if it will just rust on me, they just said sorry and ended to chat on me.
