I really liked this unit until I discovered the USB-C flaw.
On my unit, the USB-C port fit was very loose. This means when the cable is jostled VERY slightly the charging stopped. It happened quite often and was irritating because it went unnoticed at times and then my phone wasn’t charged. This would definitely be frustrating in an emergency situation when you are counting on it to charge something. While maybe not a show stopper on the whole unit (other ports worked fine), it’s very frustrating.
Other than that, here are the pros and cons.
Pros:
-Has a big and clear LED readout for status. It dims after a bit to use less power but is still, dimly readable.
-Has a molded and sturdy handle, very handy.
-The top of the case has a dished-out tray. This is incredibly useful for storing things you are charging and they won’t easily slip off the top.
-Clearly labeled on back with input/output specs which is convenient if you don’t have the manual handy (or lost it).
-Has a fan to cool when using the AC power out; this could help save it from overheating.
-Charges with the included charger, a solar cell or other DC voltage source at 12-30V. That is a useful range because most solar cells I have are at 12-18V DC. My pack’s input center pin is positive (but double-check your unit to be sure).
-Can charge out of every USB port at once which is helpful for charging many phones/etc. at once.
Other Cons:
-The LED light on the unit comes on but you have to cycle through all the modes (flash, etc.) to turn it off, no matter how long it’s been on.
-Cigarette lighter and USB’s often come on by themselves when plugging in the charger to charge the unit. But if you have nothing plugged in, this shouldn’t be a big issue.
